Arvidsjaur is a locality and the seat of Arvidsjaur Municipality in Norrbotten County, Sweden with 4,644 inhabitants in 2005.1

Arvidsjaur is a large centre for the European car industry. During the winter months major car-manufacturers perform arctic trials in the Arvidsjaur Municipality area. The town also supports tourism by offering snowmobile tours, trekking, skiing, fishing and dogsled rides. If things go according to plan, Arvidsjaur will be the site of the front legs of the world's largest moose – Stoorn – a tourist attraction planned to be built spanning from Arvidsjaur into Skellefteå in Västerbotten. It is also the birth place of the video game character Mattias Nilsson from Mercenaries.
