CCTV-2 is the finance (formerly economy until August 24, 2009) focused channel of the CCTV (China Central Television) Network in the People's Republic of China.It's a semi-comprehensive channel which mainly broadcasts economic and life service programmes.
CCTV-2 launched in 1963.At that time,it was the China color TV signal test channel which mainly broadcast educational programmes.
In 1983, CCTV-2 was changed into the "economic comprehensive channel", facing the audience, the main program of sports programs, agricultural shows, variety shows, and reruns CCTV-1 portion of the program, the overseas Chinese, English, French and other broadcast programs.
On 1999, the channel was renamed the " CCTV economic life and service channel ".
In 2003,it was renamed the " CCTV economy channel ", no longer broadcast sports programs ( Olympic Games except), agricultural shows, variety shows, overseas program, also no longer replay CCTV-1 program.
On August 24, 2009,it was changed to " CCTV channel of Finance and economics ", after the revision,it was a semi-comprehensive channel.Some columns that not related to finance or economics and life service are transferred to CCTV-3, CCTV-10.
