In the winter of 2001 Elton John set out on the road with Billy Joel again with their very popular Face to Face concert series.12 The tour started in Honolulu, Hawaii (somewhere Elton and Billy had not performed together before).3 This first leg of the tour came to close with a two date stint at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise on February 17 and 18.4
Elton and Billy then picked up the tour again on 9 April in Denver, Colorado5 and the 2001 performances came to a close with a two night stint at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota6 on 15 and 16 May.
Elton and Billy would perform the 'Face To Face' concerts again next time, the following year.7 Joel stated in 2012 that he would no longer tour with Elton due to the fact that it restrains his setlists.89
