The album was released in USA in March 1999 for the record company Geffen and peaked at #57 in the Billboard Hot 100. In Europe the CD was made available an import version a few months later and peaked at #2 in the Danish albums chart. In November, the compilation The Greatest Hits was released outside North America. The album was originally released with a remix of "Don't Come Cryin' To Me," a track that was recorded during the Heart of Stone album sessions, but the track was later removed per Cher's personal request. Billboard stated in November 2011 that the album has sold 955,000 copies in the US.3 In Canada the album was named "Greatest Hits" and was certified Platinum in 1999.
