Jazan (Arabic: جازان jazān), also spelled Jizan, Gizan or Gazan, is the capital of Jizan Province, which lies in the southwest corner of Saudi Arabia and directly north of the border with Yemen. Jazan City is situated on the coast of the Red Sea and serves a large agricultural heartland that has a population of 1.5 million, according to a 2010 census.1 The area is famous for its beautiful islands and high-quality production of tropical fruits like mango, figs, and papaya.

Jazan has an arid tropical climate with an average annual temperature of 86.2 °F (30.1 °C). January typically sees daytime highs of 88 °F (31 °C) and lows of 71 °F (22 °C), while July has average daytime highs of 104 °F (40 °C) and lows of 86 °F (30 °C).
