Nepal has competed in eleven Olympic Summer Games, and in three Olympic Winter Games.
The country has won an Olympic gold medal on one occasion, when a member of the 1922 Everest Expedition was honored with a gold medal at the 1924 Summer Olympicscitation needed . Nepal's taekwondo practitioner, Bidhan Lama, won a bronze medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, when taekwondo was an exhibition sport.1
The Nepal Olympic Committee was formed in 1962 and recognized in 1963.2
